The amethyst is more than just a pretty purple gemstone. Amethysts are said to have cleansing, protective, and healing properties. They are associated with relaxation, spirituality, intuition, and peace. Some believe the amethyst has the power to provide clarity and insight while calming the mind, body, and spirit.
Whether or not you believe a crystal can harness the power of healing, Amethyst Therapy and Wellness aims to do just that. The values that inspired the creation of my practice align with the emotional wellness, peace, and wisdom associated with the gemstone. As your mental health professional, I provide a warm, judgment-free, protective space where you are welcome and respected just as you are.
Opening yourself up to exploring your trauma and improving yourself can be a daunting task. It takes courage, vulnerability, and commitment. For those seeking individual therapy, I provide a comfortable, private space for us to explore your challenges. Teletherapy is an option for those living in the state of Florida who are not able to come into the office, and for those who enjoy the convenience of doing sessions from home. Additionally, group therapy is offered to provide a welcoming space for trauma survivors and those with common goals to connect and learn from shared experiences.
As a Brainspotting practitioner, I offer an alternative to traditional talk therapy that promotes healing trauma at its source. Brainspotting is a body- and brain-based approach that uses fixed eye positions to stimulate areas of the brain where a person's unresolved issues and traumas are stored, allowing for deeper processing. The person becomes able to access and release emotions and physical sensations associated with their trauma. This can be effective for a variety of challenges and is often combined with other therapeutic techniques to get the most benefits.
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a music-based intervention based in polyvagal theory. It is designed to help regulate the nervous system. It uses specially processed music to stimulate the nerves in a way that can improve how the brain processes sensory information. In other words, therapy using SSP can help people feel calmer, more focused, and better able to handle stress or sensory challenges, such as over-stimulation. This highly effective technique is often used to assist those dealing with anxiety or trauma, as well as neurodivergent individuals.
Amethyst Therapy and Wellness welcomes, accepts, and embraces people from all walks of life. I am an LGBTQ-affirming therapist, well-versed in queer issues. All races, religions, sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome. No matter what your culture or background, you are safe with me. This practice is committed to nondiscrimination and providing services to marginalized groups.
